You can probably take down games 5,6, and 7 in the Cavs/Hawks "series".

1. I believe Steve Smith is color guy for the Mavs game, not PJ.

2. Games tonight are at 7 and 9:30

How can the three currently best NBA announcers all be employed by the same channel. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I think TNT's basketball presentation is head and shoulders above any other sporting event on TV; but my God their lineup is just awesome.

Dick, Kevin and Marv, damn I love those guys.

@ Joe....

You mean TNT resurrected the Dick Stockton of 1989?

What's not to like about Dick, Stephen?

@joe:

the answer is everything. dick stockton can barely say his own name without messing it up. he's painful to listen to. he can't keep up with real time action and still doesn't know when to shut up.

he's awful. i won't watch a game he's announcing. i turned off a playoff game of my all time favorite team b/c he was in the booth.

Now that I think about it, he does stumble a bit doesn't he. I think I'm just mesmerized by the sound of his voice, he could be singing Hikky-Burr and I would like it.

Stockon has lost it. He has a great, classic voice but he is bordering on incoherent at times now. He unfortunately can't keep up with the game, messes up names and is painful to listen to now.

I wish Marv could still get to call the finals. Marv, Jackson, Van Gundy would be great. I do think Breen is very good though as well. I really can't stand Reggie on TNT though. How is he #1 analyst?

Harlan/Collins is an awesome team. Collins might be the best analyst out there and these two were so on it for that Bulls/Celts series. Harlan has really grown on me over the years for NBA.

TNT's #1 color analyst is busy taking a wrecking ball to the Phoenix Suns and Stockton is better at basketball play-by-play than baseball (not a ringing endorsement either way).

Stockton, like so many other older announcers, has completely lost his mind. It is definitley time for him to hang up his mic, if you will, for all of the reasons listed above and the fact that his broadcasts have literally become downright laughable.

Steve Smith kept annoying me during the Mavericks/Nuggets game tonight by mispronouncing Dirk Nowitski's last name ("no-wit-SKI" instead of "no-vit-SKI").

Agree with Lou, thought Steve Smith was awkward last night. Understand he was a last minute fill-in, but it got to the point where I had to mute the TV.

What's not to like about Dick...?

Maybe it's the third grader in me, but I got a chuckle out of that line.
