Video: The Full Rodriguez-Gammons Interview

Monday, February 09, 2009

I thought ESPN was a little bit off in airing the meat of the piece earlier in the day, but there are a ton of other interesting parts in the full version. Some of which are: It was a 30-minute interview (!), A-Rod denies taking steroids in High School, he also denied that he knew what the drugs were, and finally saying that SI's Serena Roberts stalked him and tried to break into his house.

Obviously, due to the length, I had to break it up into three parts, but here is the entire interview if you want to relive the thirty minute sitdown, or check it out for the first time.

I believe him about Roberts too. And yeah, I don't know why either.

If he lied to CBS less than a year and a half ago, why would he be honest today? If he said he used with the Yankees, his contract would be terminated...there were many holes in his answers, and Gammons didn't ask some necessary follow ups...Money is no object for him, and if he could afford Primobolan, he can afford today's cutting edge technology/masking agents...his only motivation towards telling the whole truth today is the fact that he'd be done with baseball if caught lying again.

As you can tell, I'm a Yankees fan and the only thing that convinces me a little is that his 2004 season was awful and his stats were padded by the fact that he was hitting cleanup for the New York Yankees, where 100 RBIs is like stealing candy from a baby. However, he had a miraculous turnaround in 05 and 07.

Not to sound like Simmons or anything, but that interview appears to have been conducted on the set of Mad Men.

A-Rod would look good in the sequel to "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory".
