ESPN Releases Early College Football Schedule

Thursday, February 12, 2009

I apologize for the lack of posting this afternoon but there's some sort of Noreaster coming through the East that knocked out power for most of the working day. Hopefully this early look at ESPN's College Football schedule will make up for that. There are some pretty good matchups on both ABC and ESPN early on, and will once again be highlighted by USC traveling to Ohio State for the first Saturday night game of the season. Monday, September 7th- Miami at Florida State (ESPN, 8pm)
Thursday, September 10th- Clemson at Georgia Tech (ESPN, 7:30pm)

ESPN, there's still time to put together the Western Carolina-Coastal Carolina matchup for either October 15th or November 12th.

SSReporters, this years ECU-VT game was a neutral site I think. It was much closer to ECU but it was still a neutral site. In fact this years game could be in the same place, I'll have to look it up.

This appears to be the Big 12's first appearance on Thursday night. Interesting.

SSR, actually Va Tech and ECU played last year at Charlotte. The year before that they played in Blacksburg. Good to see my Gamecocks will be kicking off the season again on Thursday night.

Also, Blacksburg is about an hour closer to Charlotte than Greenville.

There will be a Saturday night game on ABC during Labor Day weekend....both Alabama/Va. Tech from Atlanta and BYU/Oklahoma from Jerry Jones new stadium will be on. Not sure if one or both will be ABC primetime...maybe one will be on ESPN.

And once again, the rest of the SEC thanks South Carolina for filling our contractually required two Thursday night sports so the rest of us can have our full allotment of football saturdays.
