"Digger And Friends" Is Umm...Special

Monday, February 16, 2009

I watched exactly zero of the Great American Race yesterday, so I subsquently missed the debut of FOX's Digger and Friends, but lucky for me (and you!) Sox and Dawgs recorded the cartoon! I give you the first episode of "Digger and Friends"....

I guess it's not that bad, but if I was a NASCAR fan and I had to watch that nonsense while waiting for the race to start, I'd probably curse that damn gopher.

The Adventures of Digger and Friends: Episode 1 (Sox and Dawgs)

Was this a NASCAR broadcast or Saturday morning cartoons on Fox?

And this really is typical of Fox, they care more about gopher ratings than they do people ratings, if you will.

I was thinking exactly that - why the heck am I waiting for the race to start on some stupid TV time schedule when they're using the time to show me a stupid flash cartoon???

people, it's stock car racing, not speed racer! Although we love that show - they have new ones now!

Kill digger and give me some paint tradin'!

I'm a huge NASCAR fan, but I'm really only biding my time until FOX is done with their coverage. I "watched" the five hours of broadcast in 45 minutes. Thanks TiVO!

I'm a huge NASCAR fan and found this nothing short of absolutely embarrassing. It was bad enough when "Digger" was only a terrible ground-level camera angle that was grossly overused during the races, but Fox's NASCAR coverage really "jumped the shark" on this one. David Hill should be absolutely ashamed of himself.

Maybe they wouldnt have had to call the race if they had actually started it at 2 pm when they came on air. It was 3:30 one time when I checked and they still hadnt started. And every time I checked after it was a freakin caution.

Here's a suggestion: take the lights out and start at noon like you used to.

I cringed during the Bud Shootout when Darrell said something like "He's Back!" while showing the camera shot. But When they started with all this during the pre-race, I almost fell off the couch!
Just who are they trying to pull in with the adolescence crap? Two year olds? I don't think it's at all funny and like Strickland said, it's embarrassing.
Big, big waste of time that could be spent doing what we're supposed to be doing, RACING!

Um, Steve. That is the exact demo they are going after, the 2-11 year olds who watch the races. besides, the 3-D version is kinda cute in a weird sort of way...

I'm 25 and my boyfriend is 43 and we've been watching racing for a long time and our HUGE fans. We happen to like digger and his camera angle; and the cartoon is kool! For all you people that dont like it ... change the channel or just don't watch pre race!!!!
