Don't Forget About Dick Vitale's Trip To The NBA This Week!

Monday, January 05, 2009

I mean, how could you, right? There's no way you would forget that Dickie V is calling the Heat-Nuggets game this Wednesday night, but if you did, here's a reminder from some NBA personalities what it's going to sound like....

Man, that was just downright terrible, Dirk. I still don't quite understand this move, but at least everyone is having fun with it. Can't wait!

I said it when this first came out, and I'll say it again...this is fucking ludicrous. I know alot of people can't stand Dickie V, but he belongs in the college game and when a marquee game like Davidson/ Duke gets undercut for this kind of shitshow, it makes me want to puke. If Norby and ESPN have to lean on the leading college hoops tandem to draw more watchers they need to get rid of the fucking pathetic NBA and televise more college. Fuck this bullshit.

Happened to be watching Jim Rome for some odd reason and during his panel during his panel discussion they were talking about the Texas-OSU game tonight. That's when Rome asks this gem of a question, "Who needs this game more? Bob Stoops or Jim Tressel?" To which the Washington Post guest answers straight faced that both coaches need this game, "even though Stoops will be gone either way." Last time I checked, Mack Brown was still the coach at UT and Stoops was not in fact coaching tonight's game.

That must have been a shot of Mike Patrick before he had to give up smoking.

Dirk apparently perfecting the "Dickie V as a stroke victim" impersonation.

Somebody please...please tell me they recorded Raftery's boyish squeal during the early part of the ND game. That was pure gold.

If this works I hope Fox decies to switch Joe Buck with a Speak and Spell for the Eagles Giants game.

ACT LIKE YA CARE JOEY!

As a Duke fan, I'm relishing the fact that I won't have to put up with Vitale's voice for one game.

Dickie V. not doing a Duke game! "THANK YOU ESPN"! I can actually have the audio on while watching the game. Dickie V. can also find out, how worthless a regular season NBA game can be like. Do it more often, ESPN.

You losers, stop hating on the NBA cuz it's your loss if you don't watch it. There are so many great young stars and the quality of play has dramatically increased. But yeah, just keep resorting to the same old overused stereotypes and go ahead trashing it. Besides, Denver-Miami should be a good game. Hardly a worthless game. I gotta laugh at those losers who trash the NBA yet they don't even watch it. Bashing something you don't even watch is kinda sad. Grow up.

are you aware that the NBA regular season on ESPN gets bigger ratings than college hoops regular season? And that last year's NBA playoffs got bigger ratings than the NCAA Tournament? And that last year's NBA Finals got a bigger average rating than the Final Four? You may want to know it before calling something you aren't that much into it "pathetic". Pathetic..my behind.

This is anything but awesome baby! Still, I think Heat-Nuggets will be a good game.

I like the NBA crew, and it'll be nice not to see Dickie V for the game. I keep that in mind, there will be no Dickie V during the college game which is all I ask for at times.
