Your List Of 3-D Theaters Airing The BCS Title Game

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

Fox announced yesterday their deal with 3-D theater company, Cinedigm, the theaters that will be airing the January 8th, BCS National Championship Game. I don't know why anyone would want to leave the comfort of their home, and pay $20 to wear silly glasses, but if you do....hopefully your town is on the list.

Oh, so they signed a deal with crappy Carmike, one of the lower-end movie theaters out there.

They're not bad, but many of their movie theaters can be dirty, like the one in Charleston.

Guess they decided New England isn't worthy of having a single venue...I know college football isn't huge up here, but it still seems odd that Montana has two cities on the list and we have none.

This blows. They don't it in either Charlotte (only the largest city in the Carolinas) or Richmond, Va (the capital city).

Bites, blows, stinks and sucks. All at the same time.

Philadelphia isn't worthy of seeing it, Florida has seven and Oklahoma one...and it's not in Norman, but in their hated in-state rival?

There's one near where I live, but I'd rather watch the game at home.

Very interesting distribution.

No theaters here in the Los Angeles basin, none in Chicago, the Bay Area or Philadelphia either, just one in the NYC area.

The main reason for this is that Fox did not reach a deal with Regal, AMC, or many of the other large chains.

Don't know why, frankly. It's not as if those chains don't have the capability. Just near where I live, for example, Edwards 26 in Long Beach has hosted many 3-D movies and special screenings through Fathom.

Did Regal/AMC, etc. not want this particular screening, or did Fox choose not to reach out to them?

$20 and you can't bring beer, PLUS you have to pay $8 for stale popcorn. who's great idea is this? LOL it'll be a dud!

I think it's funny there's nothing in either Norman or in Gainesville. I wouldn't do it for $20. I'd rather watch a replay of the 2007 Fiesta Bowl.

That's about 30 minutes from my house. Still, what's the point in watching something that you'd have to pay $20 for, when you could get a TV for Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa, and watch the game for free? I only see a point in it if one doesn't own a TV, and has 20 bucks to burn, plus, at least in that specific theater, 11 bucks for a small popcorn and Coke.

I am a huge Sooner fan and would love to have watched the game in 3d. However the closest venue to me, even though i live near Norman, is Fort Worth, TX. Seems a little strange to me to go to TX to root for the Sooners. Oh well, guess I'll have to stay home and watch it for free and drink beer.

What a load of BS, hmm just like BCS....

Why show a game in states who won't care???

How about showing the game around Oklahoma? What? There's only one city in Oklahoma showing the game???

BCS, you really suck the biggest one!!!

Why do you even bother? Just because you can screw up someone elses good time, doesn't mean you have to!!! aholes
