SNF Live-Blog: Giants @ Eagles, Pre-Game

Sunday, November 09, 2008

If you weren't aware whom this comely lass is, that's Kendra Wilkinson, the prettiest of the Girls Next Door (my personal opinion), ex of Hugh Hefner, and now the fiancee of Eagles wideout Hank Baskett. A quick Google search will give you some pleasant results. Don't say I never did anything nice for you.

Notes from the late games:

  • Great game in the Steel City. Colts are up 24-20, after some amazing catches, including a tipped one that wound up in Reggie Wayne's hands early and another that Hines Ward pulled out of thin air. The scores have reflected each team's stereotypical philosophy: Wayne, Dallas Clark, and Dominic Rhodes have brought in TD passes from Peyton Manning, and Mewelde Moore has both Steeler scores on 54 yards rushing -- although much of it has been set up by Ben Roethlisberger to Ward, who has 100 yards receiving.
  • A surprisingly good game in San Diego, as the Chargers have just grabbed their first lead of the day on a Phil Rivers to Antonio Gates score -- he's thrown two TD passes (the other to Malcom Floyd) and two picks (Bernard Pollard and Sam McGraw are the lucky recipients.) As for the Chiefs, they've stumbled onto a quarterback. Tyler Thigpen looks durable and is getting better by the week, although he's stalled in the second half. He has two TD passes to Mark Bradley and Tony Gonzalez. 20-13, SD.
  • I wouldn't be surprised if viewers of Carolina/Oakland have committed ritual suicide at this point. Here are the lines for the QBs: Jake Delhomme is 7-27, for 72 yards, a TD and 4 picks; Andrew Walter is currently 12-27 for 134 and two picks. Walter, subbing for JaMarcus Russell, is hurt and has given way to Marques Tuiasosopo under center. Panthers ahead, of course, thanks to DeAngelo Williams and the Raiders' general commitment to excrement. 14-6, Carolina.
Discuss the day in the NFL, NBC's pre-game analyst overkill, and I'll see you guys for the live-blog in an hour.

There needs to be OT in the Colts/Steelers game.

Nantz pulls the Pam Ward there (spiking on 4th down).

And lucky Hank gets to stick his biscuit in her Basket.

Why didn't Big Ben follow Jim Nantz's advice and spike it on 4th down? Works better than an INT.

Chiefs are driving. They've got 2nd and goal at the 1 after a PI they didn't deserve on Clinton Hart, and Norv gave us some wonderful NORV! Face, staring at the sky with a "why me?" look.

Now 3rd and goal, and Gus is orgasmic at this stuff. Has to be heard to be believed.

"Man, what penetration by the defense of the Chargers, and it's a squasher!"

"What an enormous catch! That is a big time, Hall of Fame, championship level catch!" - Steve Tasker

Going for 2, GJ's gonna explode --

Coming up, GUS JOHNSON NARRATES THE OBAMA VICTORY!

+1 to KO for that line.

Chiefs fans are either headed for the painkillers in their medicine cabinets or for something a bit more lethal aimed at Herm Edwards, even though I could defend the two-point attempt try.

We've got Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" bumping us to commercial on FNIA.

@ S2N or AA: Somebody has to get a video of Jim Nantz's idiocy. As already been documented the spirit of Pam Ward entered his body at the end of that Colts-Steelers game.

If AA doesnt point out Jim Nantz's mistake at the end I will assume he is misogynistic.

This blog is bullshit.....live blogs and shit, why? It's an ANNOUNCERS site not a sports site.

But AA is star struck I guess.

Gus is pretty ridiculous. I usually love his excitement, but he was flipping out over a 3 yard catch on the sideline on a 2nd-and-6. Dude needs to be a lot more selective with his orgasms.

Now, who wants to talk about that fucking horrible playcall by Edwards on the 2-point try? Going for it is awesome, but not if your best idea is a playaction into a rookie QB rolling out, pretty much telling SD's defense where the ball's going. Irresponsibly terrible call. And yes, everyone else in my survivor pool had SD, why do you ask?

"He is the leader of the team" - Rich Eisen

"He aint the leader with 3 interceptions" - Deoin Sanders on NFLN after a clip of Drew Brees chewing out Jeremy Shockey for a dropped pass.

Also ESPN/ABC did a Heidi they bumped the NASCAR race to ESPN2 at 7:30 for America's Funniest Videos.
But they hit their target market plugging the CMA awards on NASCAR coverage, better than the Desperate Housewive promos on college football.

Titans win to go 9-0. Steelers lost. Chargers nearly lost. CBS has a choice of late games next Sunday, Chargers-Steelers or Titans-Jaguars. Which will be CBS's national game? Chargers-Steelers.

CBS is force-feeding the Steelers just like Fox was force-feeding the godawful Mets and Yankees.
