The NFL Network Thinks Brett Favre Is A "Hero"

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

I caught this commercial after going back and watching Monday Night Countdown from last night, and I think it's safe to say that the NFL Network's commercial for the Jets-Patriots game will make you sick to your stomach....

A "Heroes" parody? Ugh. The only my they could have made that more nauseating was to play the Foo Fighters "My Hero" in the background. I understand that networks need to attach their promos to someone, but when it's Favre, I immediately just roll my eyes. It'll be interesting to see if Papa and Collinsworth, fawn over Favre as much as the MNF crew did earlier in the year.

I saw that too and believe me, it really was nauseating. I wonder how Pats fans felt about that. I mean, I hate the Patriots, but there is no way they could be happy with that commercial.

I'm sure Belichick worked it into the team's film study at some point

Absolutely atrocious. When will it ever end? Most overhyped, overrated QB in the history of the NFL.

I'm a Pats fan, jfein, and I'm impressed they didn't superimpose a Darth Vader helmet on Belichick. If they really wanted to play up the Hero/Villain angle. That said, Favre will be my hero when he throws his 3rd interception on Thursday..

This accompanies Peter King calling Jared Allen "heroic" for his play against the Packers. Say nothing of the fine accrued the previous week for going after the legs of Matt Schaub. But it hasn't been even 10 years since all the bloated pundits said they would stop calling sports feats "heroic," as it dilutes the true use of the word. Get some freaking perspective.

VERY OVERRATED. HE HAS ONE RING AND PEOPLE ACT LIKE HE HAS WON 7 SUPER BOWLS. HE MAKES MORE STUPID MISTAKES THAN ANY SO CALLED GREAT QB IVE SEEN.

PETER KING IS A CLOWN ANYWAY

Pretty sweet commercial. Like the Heroes parody. I don't like Favre much either, but people need to lighten up.

I am thrilled after the win last night. I am a WI and for all the the comments made about Brett's mistakes, I just smile. He WILL be a HALL of FAMER as he has EARNED it....let's look at his stats! He has inspired the level of playing in NY. The change in the playing is evident. We lost him in GB, look where we are now...4-5. When was the last time our record was this bad??? Give Brett the credit he deserves for the dedication and hard-work he has put his heart into football to achieve what he has. There are other great QB's and we can all appreciate them also. There is room in the Hall of Fame for more than one. Go Jets, go...enjoy this moment!!!!!
