Who The Hell Put That Cart There?

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

I keep forgetting to tune in for Tuesday night Football on ESPN, but I know now that it's a must watch every single week. Last night Rece Davis, Mark May and Lou Holtz were on the call of the Houston-Marshall game and witnessed one of the worst Sports injuries ever.

For some reason, a douchebag employee at Marshall decided to park a random cart right behind the endzone and Houston Receiver Patrick Edwards ran straight into the thing. You don't notice it at first, but you see just how bad the injury is during the replay....

Well how'd that sit with your lunch? I love how Lou is wondering WHAT is in the carts, and not WHY the damn things are there in the first place.

Ilove how the cop went right to get the ball instead of checking on the player then hands it to the official and walks away.

cop to the ref: "yep poor bastard nothing I can do for him but shoot him...hey you think there's anymore donuts in the media room?"

That was ugly to watch live. Until the showed the replay I thought he just disappeared out of the end zone, but the right knee took all of the hit.

ESPN is reporting a compound leg fracture.

From personal experience (same injury, while playing WR), that can be a 6-9 month recovery. Hope his is shorter than that and he can play next season.

A search should be made to discover who left that cart there and whoever did it should get jail time for as long as it takes Edwards to recover.

If you've ever been to Huntington for a Marshall game, this should come as no surprise. It's a dump and their fans are terrible. They have less class than a demon spawn created by a Red Sox and Buckeyes fan.

Having played at the college level and knowing what its like to be laying on the field, on display while you're hurt, I can certainly empathize with the kid.

Let's hope for two things: That he recovers quickly and the morons who parked those carts there are beaten to death.

Although to be fair, he was probably asking "what is in those carts (that necessitates them being so close to the field)?".

Did you hear right at the end there? Some idiot fan says, "Walk it off!!"

Stay classy, idiot homers.

is that stadium in a pit? he didn't have much room to slow down even if the carts weren't there.

Ironically, those carts are used to carry injured players off the field.

What a leap by that CB though to save his leg. He must be 4 feet off the ground.

Let's go easy on the person who left the carts there. It was an innocent mistake and it took a freak accident for them to come into play. And the loser commenters who saw this as an opportunity to bash Marshall fans should know that there were many Marshall fans who went to visit Patrick Edwards in the hospital. Also credit Patrick Edwards for handling this beautifully, saying that he doesn't blame anyone and that he still has a few years left in his career. Great attitude by the kid.
