Your NFL Kickoff 2008 Performer Is Keith Urban

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

More music news folks. If you're like me, you've certainly enjoyed the past NFL Kickoff parties and you may have even attended one (I got to see Britney [above] live!). This year's Kickoff artist joins the list of such amazing acts as Ms. Spears, Bon Jovi, Enrique Iglesias, Aerosmith, Destiny's Child, Elton John, Green Day, Ozzy Osbourne, Good Charlotte and Kelly Clarkson to name a few....

According to a few rumors and the latest issue of Sports Business Journal, the main artist at your NFL Kickoff Party is......

No silly, not Nicole Kidman. It's her husband.....yeah....that guy. His name is Keith Urban, and this isn't first time that the Kickoff Show has featured a Country singer. Just the first time that he/she has been the main performer during the show. The show will be sponsored by EA Sports and other acts will be named soon.

Well, it's not featuring an ACTUAL country singer, just one who sings crap that gets played on "mainstream" country radio today.

Keith Urban is one of the most dynamic live performers to hit the stage. His blazing guitar and enthusiastic vocals are amazing.

Finally mainstream America will get to really experience the miracle that is KEITH URBAN...if you have not experienced keith's live performances, you are NOT qualified to pass judgement on him. He has God given talents that put to shame a lot of artists out there who are only in it for the fame and fortune and NOT because they are actually and truly talented. Keith is America's best kept secret for those who haven't discovered him yet!

urban is a no talent hack who was headed for one hit wonder land until he shacked up with Nicole Kidman. His songs are garbage.

Another reason not to watch the pregame.

If we didn't listen to Carl Lewis' rendition of the National Anthem 'live,' are our opinions of his singing invalidated, too?

Keith Urban very well may be a fine live performer, and if he is, great. That doesn't change the fact that he's one of a slew of singers who dominate mainstream country radio with music that doesn't even resemble real country music.

haha

'miracle' and 'amazing' are not words to define any current country singer, let alone someone who doesn't even sing COUNTRY!

The crap spewed forth today doesn't resemble real country at all. It's pop music with a steel guitar, and that's all.

Real country singers cringe at the mention of this shit being called country.

It is quite funny the BIG mouths that put down performers when in fact they have no knowledge of their music. Try it . . . you might like it! Losers! Keith is amazing!

Are you crazy saying Keith Urban was a one hit wonder before he met Nicole? You obviously do not know anything about him. I have over 8 hours of his music on my computer and there are MANY MANY big hits in there. He was a country star long before he met his lovely wife. He toured 107 dates last year to sell out crowds of 12-20K per show with no Nicole in site. My husband and I love his music and have seen him live 16 times. In fact we are traveling from MI to see him at the NFL kick off party so the Big Apple is getting our tourism dollars because Keith will be performing.

I have to say that I love people's who opinions are so one-sided and closed. "To hell with keith playing - why should open the NFL season opener. Football is a real man's sport." Honestly, you all need to just crawl back into the little holes you came from. My favorite is the one comment I read about Keith Urban being a no talent hack who just piggy backs off of mainstream radio. So let me guess - being able to play guitar the way he does, piano, bass, and other various instruments doesn't count for talent? Oh but I am sure that you are fan of some "legend" such as Kurt Cobain. I have a very broad range of music. My top favorites are Metallica, Pink Floyd, The Starting Line, Keith Urban, and Eminem. I just think that these people need to not judge something they have never listened to or seen live. To say he piggy backs off of his hot wife - there are two problems with that statement bud - number one, she is not hott. Number two, he was famous and touring long before he met her. And of course Keith is a "sell out" because he is on the radio making 50 gabillion dollars. Let me ask everybody who throws around the term sell out like its water. When you go to work in the morning, is it what you dream of doing? Is everything you ever wanted? If not then you too are "selling out" to society. There is nothing wrong with performing music that is geared towards radio - its what makes money!

Grow up people

-Tom
