Brett Favre Chooses Fox News For His Comeback Announcement

Monday, July 14, 2008

Brett Favre is planning on finally talking about his desire to return to the game and he won't be doing so on ESPN. The long awaited first word from Favre is going to be given to Greta Van Susteren of all people. Via Greta Wire....

I just interviewed Brett Favre in Mississippi….he is, as you know, entangled in a dispute with the Green Bay Packer General Manager. Brett understands the GM decision..and he accepts it..(And yes he loves the Packer fans)…but now - since the Packer GM made plain he does not want him - he wants to be released by the Packers so that he can see if any other team wants him. I am rushing to the airport but you will see the interview tonight...
This has to be an ultra slap in the face to ESPN. The "Leader" has probably been begging for him to come on and all 2,000 of Chris Mortensen's cell minutes have been used up for the month. It turns out the reason for choosing Greta is that she's a Wisconsin native and actually a family friend. You can see the interview tonight at 10pm if you care. Here's a quote via the Associated Press....
"I am guilty of retiring early and there is a reason for that," Favre said, according to an excerpt provided to The Associated Press. "And the major issue is 'Why did he retire,' and 'He asked for a release because he doesn't want to play in Green Bay.' That's not true. And I hope people are hearing this and saying 'OK, that clears it up."'

Since this will be on Fox News, I guess that Favre wants to wear his NRA t-shirt. Is it really a comeback when no one wants you???

Greta: So your a football player of some sort? Do you have to travel for that or what?
Brett: What color of pantys are you wearing?
Greta: You've been talking to Tommy haven't you?

Brett is just bitter because the Packers aren't on their knees sucking his dick to comeback. Get the memo Brett, they don't want you.

Brett Favre wanted to go on Fox News and "start blubbering like a baby".

Thought I'm sick of this story and have lost a lot of respect for Brett with this debacle, I am entertained by his (or anybody's) snub of ESPN like this. The WWL has been in frantic round-the-clock "Favre Watch" mode for days now, and then they don't even get the official story. Greatness.

Another Favre story? Christ. Everyone knew his sob story when he retired was bullshit.

It would be sweet justice for the Packers to sit Favre, not trade him, not play him, just make his sorry, narcissistic ass sit and make him wish he'd stayed retired.

I guess that's nice since it won't interfere with ESPN's obsession with the All-Star Game/Home Run Derby...

I just read that quote from him and it makes no sense. But its supposed to "clear things up"

I liked him better when he was addicted to painkillers, now hes just addicted to press conferences.
