Your College World Series Announcing Schedule (Now With More O.A.R.!)

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

I know how kindly you all responded to the Softball schedule which is why I've decided to put up the College Baseball World Series announcing schedule as well. Unlike the Softball set of games ESPN has decided to throw a cavalcade of announcers at this College Championship and even add a theme song!

"The single This Town from popular band O.A.R.’s new album All Sides (released July 15) will be utilized throughout the coverage."
Yes! Actually I'm not even going to make fun of that one because A) A ton of you College whippersnappers love the band and B) Anything other than 3 Doors Down on ESPN these days is fine by me. Here are your teams and while I was enjoying the recent absence of Mike "I Wonder What Britney's Doing" Patrick, I'm ready for him to come back and give us some more "Deep Thoughts". Add Erin Andrews, Sean McDonough, Karl Ravech, a wily Barry Larkin, and Robin Ventura....and we're looking at a fun week or so.

Here's the schedule.....

9 Comments:

The good: Sean McDonough, Erin Andrews, Orel Hershiser.

The bad: Mike Patrick (like I have to go into this). Karl Ravech (since when the fuck does he do PBP, i'm tired of them taking studio guys to do PBP they're all terrible sans Chris Fowler on football). Demoting Kyle Peterson to dugouts whenever he's like one of eight people in the country who follows the sport year round.

Verdict: Blah.

AA, aren't you forgetting your college football standard of bolding Erin Andrews' appearances. This same approach would be much appreciated for this post as well.

Anytime you put Oral and Erin Andrews together, I'm watching!

Oh, it's Orel Hershiser? Nevermind.

I second first anon with my displeasure of Mike Patrick doing more games than Sean McDonough.

Ravech did some PbP during Little League World Series regionals last year as well as the consolation game, if my memory serves me correctly. In my opinion, he wasn't impressive at all.

McDonough got screwed, best baseball announcer ESPN has and they barely use him. He should have the championship round not Mike Patrick.
