Manny Ramirez Is Insane (Not That You Didn't Know That Already)

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

I know we're not breaking any new ground here in the sanity of Manny department, and you may have already seen the Zapruder like footage Deadspin posted earlier, but this needs to be seen in slow motion to be appreciated.

Watch closely....

He caught it on the run, climbed the wall, high fived a fan, and then doubled up a runner. Insane. That's Bo Jackson running up the wall cool. Manny will never cease to amaze me.

It's like Manny doesn't know that there's a game going on. I remember seeing him catch a fly running back, then take three or four unnecessary steps to shoulder-bump the wall like he just caught an interception, then hums the ball back into the infield for what I believe was an assist.

Great assessment. He's like a little kid out there. Not that there's anything wrong with that (most of the time).

I saw this live this afternoon and immediately thought, "that has got to make it on Awful Announcing tonight."

I despise Manny and even I thought that was hilarious.

That was no high five

Kornheiser & Wilbon can execute a high five better than that.

I'll call your Manny high-five and raise you another Rick Ankiel web gem.

Remind me - which team won that game?

Thought so. Pink Hat Nation, go invade someone else's ballpark. You kind aren't welcome in Bodymore...

I think Manny executed his end of the high-five just perfectly. But what fan would be prepared for that? The awesomeness of that entire highlight would have gone off the charts if somehow the fan could have come through with the perfect high-five form.

David Puddy approves of this high five.

ONE defensive play in 15 years -- no wonder everyone goes nuts.
it's not like he's Jim Edmonds or Ken Griffey, Junior.

Ofcourse when Manny does this, its all manny being manny but Joba shows a little emotion and ESPN and the rest of the idiotic media make him out to be a villain. While Papelbon and K-Rod do the same shit and no one opens their mouth.

Theres a huge difference between Joba the Idiot and the idiot himself Manny. Joba got all excited like a complete moron in a 5-2 game with no one on in the 8th inning of a May game! Give me a break! He was just happy to strike out the same guy who owned him the night before, causing Joba to cry like a little baby in the dugout. Manny made a nice running catch @ a big time and he's not trying to show anyone up (like Joba was). He's just being himself and having fun. There's nothing wrong with having fun, but there are times when excessive celebrations are not necessary...and Joba knows perfectly how to fill that role.
Manny being Manny is great for baseball and anyone who says otherwise is either an idiot OR some stupid yankee fan.

I agree. We need the Manny being Manny video up here that they aired on SC/Baseball Tonight.
