Lebron James "Has No Regard For Human Life!"

Monday, May 12, 2008

Ernie Johnson just called this the "signature play of game four", but something like this could be the signature play of the entire Series.

Seriously....watch that again. I still yelled just then and that was like the seventh time seeing it. Unbelievable. Also, Kevin Harlan.....don't change a thing. I can't get enough of his calls in close games and I'm actually starting to come around on Doug Collins during these Playoffs. I don't know if someone got messages to all of these people, but I'm loving the announcing teams this Post Season (yes, even Hubie Brown).

(Sorry about the small screen video, but YouTube is down at the moment. It'll be fixed as soon as possible)

Looks like KG might need to fix his teeth after that one!!!

The first thing I thought when I saw that dunk was "The Awful Announcing Blog is going to LOVE that line!"

I have to admit that I'm pretty predictable these days. I'm going to have to come up with something to throw you all for a loop soon.

But still....that was awesome.

That dunk was better than LeBron's reach back dunk from Game 1 of the Wizards series. Kevin Harlan's one of my favorites (Wayne Larrivee has tried numerous times to steal that 'No Regard' line).

but I'm loving the announcing teams this Post Season

Even Dick Stockton & Mike Fratello?

call me when he actually hits a big shot

@sophia's bush:

LeBron should get a pass (for now) on the "big shot" after last years' 4th Quarter performance in Game 5 against the Pistons.

/dredging up that game will now cause me to vomit uncontrollably

There are obviously a few exceptions RJBO. I don't really have it out for Dick Stockton but the guy is just too old these days. It's unfortunate but it happens.

Fratello has always sucked if you ask me, so he's actually impressing me a bit.

So the Celtics lost a road game in the playoffs. This is news because....

I still remember when Harlan was the Timberwolves' announcer on FSN. It feels so ... awkward to hear KG on the receiving end of a "no regard for human life" play instead of being the one dishing it out.

That was the greatest announcing line ever. This needs to be adopted by every Sportscenter anchor and sketch comedy show, and subsequently beaten over our heads until it's no longer funny.

"LeBron James has no regard for human life!"

This is only second to his call for T-Mac's "HE JUST SUCKED THE GRAVITY, RIGHT OUT OF THE BUILDING !!"

May 13, 2008, 2:47:00 AM

what was the other huge dunk that he used that line on before?

I remember this line being used in an NBA game on Nintendo 64. I wait for Harlan to bust it out all the time, so I kind of weeped a bit, haha. Now I'm waiting for the return of, "They're playing VOLLEYBALL out there!" after a couple of blocks. Harlan makes the games so f'ing enjoyable, he needs more love.

About 10 years ago Harlan used that line after Garnett crowned someone. I can’t remember who it was on, but that will always be my favorite call.

Come on... Doug Collins? He's so pathetic. I can count the amount of actual complete thoughts he finishes on 1 hand.

Did anyone catch one of the announcers saying the Cavs are "taking too many bad jump shits" in the mid to late 4th Quarter after Szczerbiak missed a three? I wish I took down the exact time on the clock, but maybe it was around 4 mins.

I don't know what a "jump shit" is, but I would guess that every jump shit is a bad one.

This was an old line from classic video game NBA Jam. Here's hoping we get an "Is It The Shoes!?!?" from Harlan next game.

The Cavs are going to win this series. Mark it down. The Celtics are paper champs.

AA, did you see the beginning of Inside the NBA after teh game when Charles came on the air with shit all over his mouth. Kenny and Ernie both called him out on it...it was priceless.

I thought we were over idolizing Lebron as the second coming of Christ?

this shit is just some powerful dominique type shit. garnett is a joke and one of the most overrated players ive seen. hes not a winner and no where near clutch. and collins is terrible. he was a great player though.

gmoney....the celts are definitely paper champs. lebron needs a game 5 like he did the pistons last year.

Give me a break! Kevin Harlan has obvious fake enthusiasm. He is Marv Albert on crack. I wouldn't be suprised to find out he likes to wear boy shorts under his suit.

The call was better than the dunk. It was nice, but typically overstated because it was Lebron

Don't be jealous. That call was hilarious.

that was the best announcement ever, perfect timing "Lebron James with no regard for human life" Funny shit. but when he is in the air like that he really has no regard..

*Yawn*

1) He didn't dunk..his fingers threw the ball in, it's was barely a finger roll.

2) KG wasn't even under him. ESPN is trying to make this a "Jordan in Ewing's face" dunk. It's NOT!

How many shots did LeBron have OTHER than this? Oh, yeah...six. And ESPN showed every single one. As usual...over-hyped garbage from the NBA.

i find it hard to believe that drunking a basketball would have any correlation whatsoever to mr. james' outlook on fundamental human worth
