Michael Wilbon Puts Earl Weaver In The Grave

Thursday, March 13, 2008

I guess it isn't really funny when you joke about someone being dead when they actually aren't, but if there's any case in which it is....this is it. Mike Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser were talking about Tommy Lasorda when Wilbon decided to bring up Earl Weaver. He compares Lasorda to Weaver and says that he would be 88 years old if he were alive.

That's all well and good, but Earl Weaver is very much alive and only 77 years old. I love the look that Tony gives him right after he says it. During the corrections at the end of the show Wilbon laughed it off and apoligized.

(Thanks to Flubby for the heads up)

Must be really slow news day. Who cares about this babbling idiot who clearly wasn't even aware of his screw-up because he was too into listening to himself talk. Someone fire this self absorbed fool.

Too into listening to himself talk? How do you know that? sounds like an assuption. And should someone really lose their job because of one mistake?
