Introducing Your Next Cubs Announcer, Bill Murray! Wait....What?

Monday, March 03, 2008

Unbelievable maybe, but it could quite possibly happen. The Chicago Sun-Times conducted an interview with Joel Murray recently and Bill's brother had some interesting things to say about the actor and Cubs fan. Via SBB....

Joel's big brother, frequent Wrigley visitor Bill Murray, was not available to comment on the subject. ''He's in Spain working on a film,'' said the sibling. But Joel did remember a recent chat they had about the team.

''We were in the car and Bill suddenly said, 'I think being an announcer for the Cubs would be a cool retirement job -- after acting.'''
I don't know how Cubs fans would feel about this, but I'm all for it. It would be like Harry Caray all over again. I can imagine Bill chugging a Budweiser just like Harry, and become just as intelligible in blowout games. The possibilities are endless!

Whoa, Bill, stick with your day job of capturing ghosts and trying to bang Sigourney Weaver.
