Brent Musburger To Call MLB Game For ESPN (And Your Opening Day Announcing Schedule)

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

Just when you think you get a break from the guy ESPN goes and brings him on to announce Baseball games for the network. I'm not sure if this is just an Opening Day thing or if he'll call multiple games but he will be on the call of the Brewers-Cubs game with Orel Hershiser (ESPN2, 2pm).

Here's the rest of the Opening Day Schedule as well....

Baseball Tonight from Yankee Stadium (ESPN, Noon)-
Karl Ravech, John Kruk, Eric Young
Toronto at New York Yankees (ESPN, 1pm)- Dan Shulman, John Kruk
Milwaukee at Chicago Cubs (ESPN2, 2pm)- Brent Musburger, Orel Hershiser
San Francisco at Los Angeles Dodgers (ESPN, 4pm)- Dave O’Brien, Steve Phillips, ERIN ANDREWS
Baseball Tonight (ESPN2, 5pm from Bristol)- Karl Ravech, Eric Young, Buster Olney
Los Angeles Angels at Minnesota (ESPN2, 7pm)- Jon Miller, Joe Morgan
Houston at San Diego (ESPN2, 10pm)- Sean McDonough, Orestes Destrade, Candy Maldonado
Baseball Tonight (ESPN, Midnight from Bristol)- Steve Berthiaume, Eric Young, Buster Olney

Man Buster Olney and Eric Young are going to have a VERY long day.

Sorry to be late with the news AA, but Brent said a while back that he was gonna be in Chicago to do the Cubs/Brewers game. He announced that when ESPN 1000 here in Chicago said he was going to take part in their "Lunch with a Legend" function.

Its going to be interesting to watch Brent do a baseball game this season, he hasn't done a game in years.

He announced that when ESPN 1000 here in Chicago said he was going to take part in their "Three Martini Lunch with a Legend" function.

Fixed.

When will ESPN finally come to their senses and let Brian Kenny be the host of Baseball Tonight? Steve Berthiaume is so annoying with that hatchet job of a Scarface imperssion.

I honestly want to punch a hole in the wall seeing that lovely Erin is partnered with the clincally retarded Steve Phillips.

Ouch, Anon 2:56, and Steve Perfume is good only in low doses; he's better suited on SportsCenter than on a show where you're constantly setting up analysts (like on Baseball Tonight).
Brian Kenny hasn't been on anything outside of SportsCenter & Friday Night Fights since his legendary battles with Beano Cook on the late Saturday College Football Scoreboard. Brian had the nerve of actually challenging what Beano said.

Man Buster Olney and Eric Young are going to have a VERY long day.

And Sean McDonough is going to have a VERY VERY long 3 hours.

I agree with anon ... Brian Kenny should be hosting Baseball Tonight. He's the best thing they got.

Jon Sciambi was doing the Red Sox Boycott exhibition game today on ESPN, and if he has the same schedule he did last year, will do the occasional TV or radio game for them again this year.
