Oh No Pats Fans!

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

Do you see this? I can't even begin to describe how terrible this picture is for New England fans. I mean do you see those roses? Doesn't Tom know that white roses mean that you're saying that you're just friends?!?! Giselle is going to be devastated.

How is he going to be able to concentrate these upcoming two weeks? I mean this is almost a "Jessica Simpson" level distraction. How can Tommy even preapare with......what's that? Ohhhh!!!!!!!!!

ESPN had TMZ video of this on their shows today. I don't know who has sunk farther -- ESPN or TMZ -- but it's out there. By 10:00, Chris Mortensen will break this story.

Jim Nantz must have gotten pretty physical with Tom the other night.

Mike Greenberg just cleared this up -- everyone calmed down. Everyone's focusing on the cast. The point is the quality of the flowers. You can pick those up anywhere. He should have gone to proflowers.com and typed "Mike & Mike" in as the promotion code to receive a free vase with his order as well.

What a troll.

It wouldn't surprise me if his foot is fine and his own people planted this story. Now when he wins, they can talk about how he "overcame adversity."

Anon, it's not that "ESPN has sunk" because they're airing TMZ video. It's that this is the top frickin' story. We're 13 days from the Super Bowl. There was a full slate of NBA games. There was a full slate of college basketball games. Tony Dungy stayed with the Colts. Serena Williams and Justine Henin lost in the Australian Open. In terms of flat-out newsworthiness and news judgment (because SportsCenter is still a news program, no matter what anybody says), this is just awful. This is hype. This is questionable even by Entertainment Tonight standards. So of course I shouldn't be surprised.

white rose means "happy love," yellow rose is friendship.

not everyone is "distracted" when they are in a relationship AA, are you suggesting that athletes be miserable and single. Pats fans should be concerned that he has on a cast, not that he is bring flowers to his girlfriend, also get your meaning of “rose colors” correct.

Mike & Mike cleared this up, those are carnations, not roses. Also, I have it on good authority that Tom Brady is merely trying the boot on for fit and comfort, as he has recently been approached to endorse the Safety-Med Brand Ankle-Support System, and that he is in perfect health. Go Pats.

Do you understand sarcasm GBFan? Come on...it was just a joke...wake up my friend.

Also, in highschool when we sent people roses on V-Day it was always...

Red= Love
Pink= Secret Crush
White= Friend

it'd be funny if he was told by the coach to wear that LMAO

I understand sarcasm; however, it makes no sense and is not “sarcastic” because you screwed up the meaning of white roses.

Also with your high school explanation just proves that you did not intend to be “sarcastic” you were just ill-informed.

Just how much time does Brady spend in NY?

You'd think he played there.

ESPN has really sunk further and further the last few years. Sportscener has been unwachable becasue it seems like this anchors only care about theri stupid catch-phrases instead of delivering the highlights of the game. I was surprised that after ESPN showed this Brady Photo they didn't have an Outside the Lines speical or a roundtable discussion... LOL

It's like they think the entire nation will change the channel on SportsCenter if they don't lead with one of about five celebrity athletes or teams (Yankees/ARod/Clemens, Patriots/Brady, Lakers/Kobe, Cowboys/TO/Romo, or USC). And it's sad that they have to either find or make up shit like this to get them there.

Shame on you, AA, for not knowing which flowers mean what. I'll bet your one of those hopeless people that still uses "words" to get your point across.

I think my high school used a different system:

White - "these flowers are from NHZ, so please at least thank him before you reject him" :P

Pink - "I want to get you drunk and attempt to date rape you."

Red - "Fellatio in the locker room?"

Anyways, it was a complicated process and I'm glad there's no such rules for me anymore.

Does anyone else find it funny that AA nit-picks announcers and the one time someone pokes fun at him he gets all defensive and mad. AA calm down, maybe someone is just giving you a taste of your own medicine, in a fun playful manner.

God AA, what an awful job of knowing what white roses mean!

By the way, 2-to-1 says that this is all part of an elaborate front put on by Darth Belichick.

I didn't think I was being defensive at all. The argument just makes no sense. People disagreed with me all day yesterday on the FOX NFC Championship coverage and I welcome it.

I just really had no idea what any of you were talking about to be honest. The whole thing was a joke, which I'm sure you figured out. Maybe it wasn't funny, but I didn't want to be the 9,000th person you read with the same thought of "Oh no TB won't be able to play in the big game because of his foot."

I'm going to leave humor alone and study about on my flower colors.

Jan 22, 2008, 1:03:00 PM

AA, you weren't being defensive. GBFan didn't get the joke, so he was being defensive when you called him on his inability to read sarcasm.

It was a funny post, and I'm sorry some people are too stupid to get that.
