FOX Adds A Coach To The Studio Coverage For Championship

Monday, January 07, 2008

Just a brief note from a FOX Sports Press Release but apparently Chris Rose and Jimmy Johnson will have a guest tonight. They will be joined by a current NCAA coach during their pregame and halftime shows for tonight's BCS Championship Game coverage.

Urban Meyer will be on the set to get you hyped for a night full of band shots and Thom Brennaman calling LSU, Hawaii. Live-Blog and/or Open Thread (haven't decided yet) will start around 7:30, and hopefully Meyer gives us something exciting tonight (unlike Herm Edwards).

Hey AA, don't know if you have seen it or heard about it yet, but Roger Clemens has now joined the New England Patriots as the second sports figure or team to have its own category on ESPN's bottom line.

LSU - Hawaii huh? Nice pot shot. If Ohio State does win it tonight, it'll be interesting to see how many media and media like people suck it up and give them credit, or go right to the LSU wasn't as good, 2 losses, weren't prepared excuse train. I'm pretty sure I know which one Mark May and AA will go with.

JJ- I just noticed it when you wrote that.....ridiculous.

Mez- In all honesty I really could care less about this Championship. We all know that there's no single matchup that would have made sense this year and that's the BCS' fault. This is going to happen every single year until there is a Playoff unfortunately.

It really has nothing to do with me not liking Ohio State. If they win, I will give them credit for beating an LSU team that I think is the best in the Nation.

best in the nation...with two losses....interesting

AA,
LSU-Hawaii is correct. Afterall, Thom had the Gators playing Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl. He'll probably say the wrong team again tonight.
Don't listen to Mez.

Thanks for getting the joke Anon.

Your right on the BCS being a joke. The SEC has the best track record, three trips, three titles since its inception.

It will be interesting though if some analysts will give credit or dismiss seeing the stance so many have taken the past few weeks.

The reality is, if OSU does win and Mark May says something negative, Lou might resort to the machete he keeps under the desk after his New Years tirade, hah.

And if they get their asses handed to them like last year, I put the over/under on "watching the DVD of the title game" jokes at 294,097.

College football is so fucking boring. 5 hour games, sign me up!!!

But back to the picture, if this one-on-one actually happened, and if I was a rival coach, I would show it to every recruit and say "do you really want to play for a homo?"
