Scott Van Pelt Puts Last Night's MNF Game Into Perspective

Tuesday, December 11, 2007

MNF has obviously been killing in the ratings lately, but the "Mike Vick Bowl" obviously wasn't going to be racking up the numbers. Leave it to SVP to let the MNF booth know the facts....

At the end of a mind numbing day of "Vick Talk" I'm glad Van Pelt and Mayne could have a little fun with the Monday Night Crew. For as bad as that game was I honestly didn't think the team did that bad of a job. Sure there was the 3rd quarter "Vick Fest" but the trio did a good job of avoiding the criminal for most of the night.

Not taking yourself too seriously will always earn you points on this site.

say what you will about the MNF crew, but thank your lucky stars Joe Buck wasn't in the booth last night. If he blew a gasket at Randy Moss's fake moon ("That was a disgusting act!"), can you imagine what he would have said about the "Free Mike Vick" shirt?

because i'm pretty sure that "supporting a confessed and convicted felon" is worse than "not actually show your ass" in the scale of morality plays.

And that's why I dig Van Pelt. He is not afraid to speak his mind.

I'm more concerned with Tirico knowing the cast. Was he following them around the Disney lots?

Well ESPN is owned by Disney so I'm sure they are briefed on how to throw plugs in there like that.
