Lou Holtz Is A Greaser, Wants To Cut Mark May

Monday, December 31, 2007

I really thought I was going to end the year with the Illinois pep talk, but Lou Holtz just blew (blowed?) my mind. Lou, Rece Davis, and Mark May were talking about the Chick-Fil-A Bowl when Holtz said he wouldn't even go out for New Years Eve because this game is so good. Mark May then responded by saying he's in Bristol and there's nowhere to go. That's when the fun starts.....

Hilarious. Lou's old school Mark! Do NOT mess with him!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!

May better be careful about dissing Bristol, whether he's right or not. Sal Marciano was fired for basically the same thing years ago, saying on the air, something like, "the best thing about going home every night is seeing the lights of Bristol, CT in my rear view mirror."

Being a CT resident, May is absofuckingluteley right. Bristol is awful.

Is there any way we can strap Lou Holtz to the guy doing the motorcycle jump?

As another CT resident I safely concur if it wasnt for ESPN there'd be nothing there.

Really, Bruce, you don't want to get on ESPN's bad side.

On second though, yes, May, diss Bristol every time you're on the air, please!

I just wanted to say that this is my favorite AA headline of all time.

Just to let you know, but ABC is using the First Take anchors for their Rose Bowl parade coverage and Erin Andrews is there. If they had sent Skip Bayless, he could have accused the tiger float of being gay and that "Up With People" quit during its performance.

Lloyd Coach is the Coach of the Year. Why the hell is everybody up Michigan's ass? You become the first coach to lose to a 1-AA team while in the top 5, and ESPN (well, the Bobby Dodd Foundation) gives you a trophy? If there was ever any evidence of a pro-Michigan bias, there you go. It was bad enough when ESPN praised Rich Rodriguez for doing the same thing they villified Bobby Petrino and Nick Saban for doing, but this takes the cake.

Michigan could have hired Dave Whanstet as head coach and ESPN would still say:
1. It was a great hire that will leave them to a national title (They also say the same thing about every Notre Dame hire).

2. Michigan can now compete against Ohio State. They are competing already, they are just not as good as Ohio State. Somebody who cannot even beat Pittsburgh.

Any chance Erin Andrews is the sideline reporter for the game?. It will make watching the game tolerable since it will be 4 hrs of Kirk herbstreit acting as apologist for Big Ten.

Maybe the worldwide leader can do something right this bowl season, since they didnt give Bonnie Bernstein any face time last night at the Chick-fil-a Bowl.

@steve:

I know, at the beginning of the game, they were having some audio problems.
Pat Summerall isn't as uncomfortable to listen to as Dick Clark is now, but he shouldn't do games anymore.

He bashes the big ten according to all big 10 teams and kisses the ass of all the other conferences.

SEC feels they get no respect from him and he loves the other conferences.

Just change the sec, pac 10, big 12, acc, big east from the sec or big 10 and they all feel disrespected and he loves all the other conferences but theirs.

So which one is it?

Herbstreit kisses the ass of everyone. Personally though, he sucks up to Oklahoma and USC the most.

Well put out a memo, please to all the fans of the conferences. Monday every message board and blog said he hated them and loved everyone else.

Please come to a decision?

i know youve talked about national anthem stuff before but if anyone is watching the winter classic (hoc-key? omg hilarious!) there was no US anthem. they had oh canada, then had some irish tenor sing god bless america after a thirty second dedication to our troops in afghanistan, not iraq or around the world, JUST afghanistan. how the hell do you do oh canada and then not our anthem? whoever made that choice is an idiot

Herbie has even admitted that he is extra nice to Michigan on TV because of his obvious Ohio State bias. But sometimes he and his network take it too far. And you can't tell me if you have seen Brent Musberger that he isn't pro-USC. I thought I was going to throw something at my set when LSU completely dismantled VA Tech 48-7 and he was saying "they're good, but they're not as good as USC (whom he hadn't seen play yet)." What exactly does a team have to do to be better than a one-peat team that would eventually lose to Stanford? Of course that didn't stop him from pointing out that they were the best team right now when he did the Holiday Bowl.
