Bob Costas Hosting Marshall Faulk's Jersey Retirement Ceremony

Thursday, December 20, 2007

I'm pretty sure this is all the NFL Network's crew is going to talk about is Marshall Faulk tonight. And while that might get a tad annoying, Marshall Faulk does deserve the praise. With that said, I have no idea why Bob Costas will be the one leading the praise....

Marshall Faulk, who spent the last seven years of his 12-year NFL career with the St. Louis Rams, will have his jersey retired by the team. The club announced Wednesday that the ceremony will take place at halftime of the Rams' December 20 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bob Costas will lead the proceedings, which will feature a video tribute after Faulk's number 28 is raised to the rafters.
Interesting.

(Not really I know)

Costas is a huge St. Louis rube. He grew up on the cardinals, and apparently is still revered in that city, one of the few places left on earth where that statement is true.

Costas got his start calling St. Louis Spirits ABA games, and seems to be identified with the city, so that may be the reason.

Costas is a STL boy. That's probably why.

Is it wrong to anally penetrate a midget? No. No, it is not. As long as it's with a pool cue.

Costas still lives in St. Louis, despite what some people think, and yes, he is an icon in the city. He was on KSLG 1380 this week almost as much as regulars Bernie Miklasz and Martin Kilcoyne, hyping the ceremony and weighing in on the Mitchell Report, of course. And yes, even though I live in Virginia, I listen to St. Louis radio. It's a lot easier to handle than the insipid programming on the Four Letter.
