Bill Cowher To Give Us An Interesting Look At The Steelers-Pats Game On Sunday

Friday, December 07, 2007

This seems like the best idea a Pregame Show has come up with, and while I know it's been done before it hasn't been done to this degree. Bill Cowher plans to gameplan both the Offense and Defense for his ex-team the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday on NFL Today.

Cowher will take the team he coached just a year ago and dissect and plan exactly how the Steelers can beat the Patriots. This should provide us Football nerds with a great inside look at how coaches prepare from game to game. Also, Bill's Steelers were the ones who stopped New England's 21 wins in a row in 2004....Mike Tomlin should probably take notes.

Personally, I'd rather know what a ten year old has to say about this game than Bill Cowher.

QUITE FRANKLY, BILL'S NOT QUALIFIED TO DISSEMINATE HIS OPINION TO THE MASSES.

I bet it ends up being a bunch of lame cliches or something. It's not exactly going to be Ron Jaworski on that NFL Edge Matchup, that's for sure.

That was the only win though in the six games including two AFC championship games won by the Pats on Heinz Field. Plan away Bill seeingas its only worked once in six tries I dont think ESPn is all that worried.

i agree with matskralc -- it'll be lame cliches.
we gotta tackle.
we gotta run on 1st and 2nd down.
we gotta be sound in the kicking game. wait -- that's Rece Davis.
Cowher won't want to offend because he's returning to coaching next season.
Will he give a pre-game pep talk too or is Lou Holtz on standby?

I love that earlier post which typed how Lou sounded. Classic!

I like the look in his eyes, sumthin tells me that he is ready to play football. There's a fine line between playing football and not playing football.

You have to set the tone with sowid defense and the running game. If they can do that, and keep that far, they have a good shawt at winning this game, and maybe winning more.

Hate to say it: I told you so!!

1. "Stop Randy Moss"
2. "Isolate New England Linebackers"
3. "Win Field Position Battle"
4. "win The Turnover/Takeaway Battle"
5. "Play Good Situational Football"
6. "Control Line of Scrimmage"

Might have missed one, the wife distracted me.

Anyways, "play better than the other team" isn't much of a game plan there, Bill.

The Steelers did follow the game plan.

1. Show up on Sunday.

2. Lose.
