That's It ESPN, Let Your Analysts Try And Yell Their Pointless Picks Over The National Anthem

Does ESPN even realize how much of a joke they've made Monday Night Football? Do you think Howard Cosell would have ever talked over the Anthem???

This makes me furious. I was just about to write how the anthem is never shown or heard before games. Timmy Kelly sang at the Eagles game last night, but no one knew it because neither NBC nor the local broadcast bothered to show it. I don't understand why we need to hear these idiots talk for 3 more minutes, but if you are going to do it at least mute the stadium sound.

Did Kornheiser say "I've got to entertain America"?

Shoot me now.

The best part is Emmitt Smith's actual dialogue and Young's reaction. Seriously, what was Smith talking about?

I'm with you about Emmitt's comment. Does anyone have a transcript?

And someone please kidnap Berman.

At least Emmitt smiles and seems to be having a good time. I doubt he knows what the national anthem is, if he did know, he wouldn't care.

Having a great dynamic personality, with an easy laugh, on tv is more important than those tradition things.

ESPN must rule da WOILD!

I was disgusted when I watched this tonight. What in the hell is wrong with ESPN? Someone needs to start smacking some of these people on the mouth. Disgusting.

They took lessons from Butch Sterns at FOX 25 in Boston who did it during the ALDS at Fenway Park. The video is on You Tube.

I would have had a lot more respect if Emmitt would have said, "I'm not talking during the national anthem."

But he didn't, so I don't.

This is only fitting, because during the Civil War the Union anthem kept interrupting those damn slave jockey races.

Just wanted all of you to know that I got a blank screen and the message "We're sorry, this video is no longer available" when I tried to watch it. Don't know who was responsible, ESPN, NFL, or someone else.

The Butch Stearns video has also been removed. I guess I will just have to be quicker the next time these things happen. Or then again I can blame the Bush administration.[LOL] After all, they won't let the public see the coffins of the dead from Iraq.:(
