Your Next ESPN/Hollywood Collaboration Is......

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

This one doesn't compare to the Die Hard one that invaded Sports Center, but if you're watching ESPN Classic Thursday be forewarned. The whole day will be brought to you by the new and exciting movie.......

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will host "The Rock's Gameplan" starting at 9am on Thursday and will feature 10 hours of the ex-Hurricane's favorite Miami Football Games. It will lead you up to the Texas A&M-Miami that night and will be yet another display of Walt Disney Synergy, or what I have dubbed Disnergy!

I hate Disney Synergy, but this takes the cake. You're going to take a network that appeals to, what, fat 50 year old white men, and give it to a movie whose target audience hasn't reached puberty yet?

The Rock was on College Football Live today with John Saunders and was very entertaining.

I can see the Rock not sucking too much.

But it's the whole selling thing...it's like when Suzy Kolber was pimping monster drink when that nut was jumping the Caesar's Palace pool, she wouldn't stop selling monster energy drink. It got to the point where I was wondering what the hell I was watching, an infomercial, or regularly scheduled ESPN programming.

But I'm on an integrity kick, and I slice like a fucking hammer.

Well, at least ESPN Classic is showing actual sports for once, as opposed to "classic" bowling, "classic" billiards, "classic" poker, "classic" classic car auctions, "classic" bull riding, "classic" stump the schwab, "classic" Arliss, "classic" streetball, "classic" I could go on all day, "classic" darts, "classic" scrabble, "classic" pinochle, "classic" bocce ball, "classic" jenga, "classic" chutes and ladders...

Dude, I would watch Classic Jenja in a heartbeat, but only if it was the truth or dare version.
