Where's Our Friend Matthew?

Thursday, August 16, 2007

An astute reader (BB) from San Diego wrote me yesterday to say that Matt Vasgersian has missed a few games. When I wrote back and asked him how many he said that Matt Vas has missed two entire series! That's a bit more than a few games. He's missed basically both series since the St. Louis incident.

Our reader also took it upon himself to write into Channel 4, and this was their response....

"Dear B,

Thank you for your interest in Channel 4 San Diego and for visiting our
web site. Matt is just taking a couple of days off and will be back soon.

Thanks for watching!

Well at least they wrote back to him, albeit a bit puzzling. Hopefully Matt isn't in any hot water over this....especially since there may or may not be a new AA t-shirt coming from all of this. Okay there is, and it's the coolest thing you'll ever see.

P.S.- St. Louis.....if you're holding him for ransom, let us know your terms.

Didn't he say shit live and on the air.

I mean, I don't think you can do that...

You can take the announcer out of the XFL, but you can't take the XFL out of the announcer.

Here's some more info that I got from the the San Diego Union Tribune , "...he was off on the weekend to do a Fox game, and he had Tuesday and Wed. off because of a Fox NFL seminar in NY. He's supposed to be back in booth Thursday."

Apparently, Fox gave their anouncing teams a crash course on the appropriateness and usage of the word "shit." Vasgersian chaired a mini-discussion on the use of regional slurs during Fox broadcasts.
