Who Was The One Person Who Didn't Vote Brandon Roy for ROY?

Thursday, May 03, 2007

This guy.....

He's Toronto Raptors Announcer Chuck Swirsky, and he apparently didn't watch any other team's games. You see Chuck voted for the Raptors' Andrea Bargnani, and Oregonians are pissed.....

In fact, after Wednesday's voting was revealed, showing his as the only non-Roy vote, Swirsky said he received more than 300 e-mails in a four-hour span.

"I can understand why people are frustrated, but I don't understand why people are so hate-centered," Swirsky said. "It's been borderline disgusting."
Well when you don't make rational choices these sorts of things can happen Chucky. While your point of saying Bargnani was a key part of a playoff team is perhaps a valid one, Bargnani missed almost 20 games. 11.6ppg/3.9rebs/.8assts versus 16.8ppg/4.4rebs/4.0assts......who would you vote for?

They're just not used to being called out on blatant homerism.

The ironic part of this story is that Roy is a native of this great city here in Seattle, and Swirsky grew up in the Seattle area!

I guess he preferred snow over rain.

To be completely fair, Roy missed 25 games, so while I'd still obviously give my vote to Roy, it's not like he played a full season or anything.
