Tecmo Bowl 2008: The Trailer

Thursday, May 24, 2007

First off, I was completely unaware that ESPN.com has a video game section. It's fabulous though. With such features as "MotorStorm patch coming in mid-May", and "Burke crowned top WWE gamer"....it's sure to be a success.

Anywho, game sites like Kotaku have posted the trailer for the game. What does an intrepid reporting outfit like ESPN.com Video Games give us?

In 2008, the Tecmo Bowl series will return, but Tecmo won't tell us how just yet. The company teased a new installment in the hard-hitting sports franchise at an event in Japan today, but they only showed a logo and promised the game would be arriving on a surprising platform that we didn't expect -- maybe a handheld?
Now THAT'S news!

Here's the trailer that ESPN.com Video Games couldn't find....

The one problem with the whole thing dealie is that Madden owns the exclusive rights to player names. T-Bowl is going to have to be all older players, or have no names at all. That might suck.

Well, with Shrutebag's announcement on Thursday that he and his wife are in the process of divorcing(there's a shock...not), maybe they can create a "Help Colin Find a New Girlfriend" game.
